Sun City East Amenities Center

Goals:

Create a flagship, multi-acre resort amenity complex designed to accommodate large resident crowds while maintaining an exclusive, vacation-style atmosphere. Balanced safety, accessibility, and high capacity by incorporating non-slip pool surrounds, zero-entry water access, ADA compliance features, and wide, unobstructed pedestrian pathways throughout the complex.

Design:

A bright, reflective shell-white and soft ivory paver palette keeps the massive pool deck cool under direct sunlight, accented by subtle grey soldier courses that define pathways and structural borders. Clean, large format rectangular pavers set in a running bond pattern deliver a contemporary coastal aesthetic, while smooth custom radii trace the freeform resort pool, central islands, and zero-entry points. A high-traction, textured aggregate finish provides superior slip resistance across wet pool surrounds, zero-depth entry ramps, and high-foot-traffic walkways.

Integration:

The light hardscape tones directly complement the coastal low-country architecture, matching the white board-and-batten siding, dark metal roofs, and open-air timber frame pavilions.

Quality of Finished Project & Craftsmanship:

High-precision execution is demonstrated through the tight joints, smooth zero-entry transitions into the water, and flawless coping cuts wrapping around complex curving pool margins. Durability: Engineered with commercial-grade, salt- and chemical-resistant pavers designed to withstand heavy daily use, sun exposure, and continuous moisture without spalling or fading.

Construction Creativity:

Features an ambitious resort layout incorporating zero-entry beach slopes, integrated swim-up seating, covered pavilion structures, and central landscaped island oases within the water feature. Masterfully manages extensive water-to-hardscape boundaries, seamlessly integrating submerged paver transitions, ADA-accessible pool lifts, and sunken outdoor bar structures directly into the main deck footprint.
